Crew Chief
Wayne Hansard, 40, served as crew chief in 2002 and 2003 for NASCAR Nextel Cup Series
rookie driver Reed Sorenson. Hansard called the shots from the pit box for Sorenson as he
campaigned a Late Model three years ago. The following season, Hansard guided Sorenson to the
ASA rookie of the year championship.
A former driver, Hansard began racing in 1982 when he competed on dirt tracks throughout metro
Atlanta on a weekly basis at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Rome Speedway, Senoia Speedway, and
Seven Flags Speedway in Douglasville. He began competing on asphalt in 1987. His accomplishments
behind the wheel include track championships at Senoia in 1989 and 1999.
A Tyrone, Ga. resident, Hansard finished third in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series after winning five races and logging 21 top 10 finishes in 24 starts.
Team Owner
Tony Townley has been a car owner since 1999 in various forms of racing.
The co-founder of Zaxby's Franchising Inc, Townley is instrumental in the daily
administrative operations of Brothers Racing. He can also be found on race day
assisting on pit stops and in car setup.
Team Manager
Joey Clanton, 33, is a former ASA champion and NASCAR Busch Series driver.
He is the son of legendary dirt track racer Billy Clanton. Joey Clanton's driving
career was launched at the age of 16 when he began competing on dirt tracks through
Georgia and Alabama.
In 1992, Clanton began competing in a Late Model on local
asphalt tracks. He climbed to the Super Late Model division in 1994 and won the
Memorial Day 100 at Senoia Speedway that same season. Clanton, who holds a mechanical
engineering degree from Georgia Tech, won 17 Legends races in 1999. In 2000, he used
a win at Memphis Motorsports Park to propel him to ASA rookie of the year honors.
The following season, he claimed three ASA wins and finished third in the
championship race. In 2002, Clanton won the ASA national championship. He made 18 starts
in the Busch Series for Brewco Motorsports in 2003, when he posted a career-best
fifth-place finish at Pikes Peak International Speedway. Clanton served as crew chief
for Beau Slocumb in the Georgia Asphalt Series in 2005. The duo combined to win two events.
Car Chief
Nick Hill, 28, plays an integral role in car preparation prior to race weekends.
Nick is responsible for the maintenance of all moving parts on the vehicle and car setup.
On race day, Nick can be found plotting strategy to put the No. 09 in victory lane.
A graduate of East Coweta High School, the Moreland, Ga. native is a 20-time Legends
winner at tracks such as Atlanta Motor Speedway, Albany Motor Speedway, Lanier National
Speedway, Senoia Speedway, and Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele. Nick spent nine
years working for Delta Airlines in Customer Service.
Transporter Driver
Brandon Bilskey - Brandon Bilskey is the newest member of Brothers Racing Team.
A veteran truck driver from McDonough, Bilskey stays busy driving the BRT hauler to ASA
Late Model venues each weekend. On race day, Bilskey lends a helping hand to the crew as
they make final preparations to the No. 09 Ford.
Team Members
Harold Townley serves as a pit crew member and tire specialist. Townley spent 30
years working on the assembly line at Ford in Hapeville, Ga., before retiring in 1995.
Charlene Hansard, the team's primary spotter, brings nearly 20 years of expertise
in communicating with a driver during a race to Brothers Racing. She served as
spotter for her husband Wayne Hansard during much of his driving career.
Jeff Mintz, 36, handles fabrication duties in the race shop and assists with tires on
race weekends. A 10-year veteran, Mintz, a resident of Gillsville, Ga., has worked with Late
Model drivers Tim Fryar, Matt Hawkins and Kevin Stephens.
Jody Wilkerson, 28, grew up on the dirt tracks working on the Late Model driven by
his father, Larry Wilkerson. Jody Wilkerson, who resides in Hampton, Ga., worked on Joey
Clanton's ASA team from 2000 through 2002. He has served as the crew chief for Reed Sorenson
and Matt Hawkins. Wilkerson also raced go-karts for six seasons.
